Insurance Plans
At Bala Kids Dentistry, we are committed to providing the highest quality care in a warm, family-focused environment. We participate with many major dental insurance plans (including but not limited to: Anthem, Cigna, Guardian, and Humana). We also see many patients with out-of-network benefits (including but not limited to: Aetna, Delta Dental, and Metlife).
If your plan includes out-of-network coverage, we will submit your claim as a courtesy to help maximize your benefits. Reimbursement amounts vary by plan.
Please note that we do not participate with Medicaid, CHIP, HMO/DMO plans, or other plans that do not provide out-of-network benefits.
Not sure if we are in or out of network with your plan?

Why We’ve Chosen to Be Out-of-Network with Certain Insurance Plans
Across the country, many dental and medical offices have made the difficult decision to go out-of-network (OON) with certain insurance companies. At Bala Kids Dentistry, this decision wasn’t made lightly—but it was made with our patients’ best interests at heart.
Here’s why we’ve made this change and how it helps us deliver the exceptional, personalized care your child deserves:
We Prioritize Quality of Care Over Insurance Limitations
Being out-of-network allows us to maintain full control over the quality of care we provide. We use the most advanced, research-backed materials, equipment, and supplies—regardless of cost—because your child’s health and safety come first.
We also dedicate time before each visit to carefully review every patient’s case, ensuring that procedures go smoothly and compassionately. This level of preparation simply isn’t possible within the constraints of many insurance contracts.
More Time for Preventive and Personalized Care
When we’re not bound by insurance time limits or quotas, we can focus on what truly matters: helping your child stay healthy and happy.
We take the time to educate families about how cavities form, how to prevent them, and the importance of early, conservative treatment when needed. This individualized approach allows us to tailor recommendations based on factors like:
-
The extent of the decay
-
How long the tooth will remain in the mouth
-
Your child’s comfort and tolerance
We work closely with families to ensure your child’s dental experience is positive, informative, and empowering.
More Time with Each Patient
We never overbook our schedule. This means your visit is unhurried, and we can focus solely on your child—answering all your questions and providing thorough anticipatory guidance for what to expect between visits.
Sometimes, a child may need extra time or attention, and we appreciate your understanding when that happens. Our goal is to create a calm, supportive environment where every child feels seen and cared for.
Bridging the Gap Between Dental and Medical Care
The mouth is connected to the rest of the body—and we believe in treating the whole child, not just their teeth. Our long-term relationships with families allow us to notice when a referral to a physician or specialist may be needed. We see ourselves as part of your child’s broader healthcare team, committed to their overall well-being.
A Practice Rooted in Community
Being out-of-network gives us the flexibility to focus on what matters most: building a caring, community-centered practice. Our mission is to provide personalized, child-centered care that helps kids feel safe, valued, and excited about visiting the dentist.
Greater Flexibility in Treatment Options
We make treatment recommendations based solely on what’s best for your child—not what insurance companies are willing to cover. This allows us to offer more individualized, conservative, and effective care options—without compromise.
Happier, More Engaged Staff
Our team thrives in an environment where we can focus on quality over quantity. By seeing fewer patients per day, we’re able to spend more time making each visit engaging, educational, and even fun. This also contributes to greater job satisfaction, which means your child is always greeted by a happy, enthusiastic team.
Rising Costs and Uncompromising Safety Standards
Costs for dental practices have increased dramatically—especially for high-quality materials, PPE (like gloves and masks), and sterilization procedures. Many insurance companies have not adjusted their reimbursements to reflect these rising costs, making in-network care unsustainable without compromising quality.
At Bala Kids Dentistry, we go far beyond the minimum requirements for safety and cleanliness. We’re one of the few practices in the country with negative-pressure ventilation systems in each treatment room. This means air is vented outside the building—not recirculated—providing an extra level of protection for your family and our team.
We’re Here to Help You Navigate Your Benefits
Although we are out-of-network with certain plans, we’re happy to help you understand your coverage and submit claims on your behalf. Many patients still receive partial reimbursement from their insurance provider, depending on the plan.
If you have any questions about your specific plan or how the billing process works, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our front desk team. We’re here for you every step of the way.
Thank You for Trusting Us
Your child’s health, comfort, and long-term well-being are at the heart of everything we do. Thank you for being a part of the Bala Kids Dentistry family. We’re honored to care for your child and grateful for your continued trust.
